a day in the work week

Today I have decided to begin blogging. It's not like I don't already have enough to do in my life, so sure why not add something else to my plate? But people keep asking me to do one so I am going to try. Maybe once a week I can do this, so don't expect too much of me or expect long posts, I will just do my best.

It was a really cold day today. My mirror has a thermometor on it and it said it was"ICE" out. Didn't even give the numbers just ice.... turns out it was 31 degrees out (I dont know where the little symbol is to indicate degree) but it felt much colder than that.

At work it was a slow day so it was dedicated to getting things back in order after an event this weekend. That entailed going outside in the catering trailer to put stuff away, so I deligated that task and only went out to do inventory very quickly.
The event this weekend was the "Mash Bash" (a fundraiser for the hospital to build an Oncology wing, something desperiately needed here in Jacksonville). It was fun, Jamie Farre, played Clinger on Mash was the entertainment.
At the close of the day I still needed to count tickets that were used to count drinks at the "Mash Bash" so we could settle the bill. After much counting, we realized that we broke even. I had been hopeful that I would bring in enough to donate back to the hospital a nice large check, but it just didnt happen. Cash bars don't seem to go over very well with the public when they have already paid a mint for tickets to get into the event.

I picked up my little angel, Cassidy from the sitters and drove home in the snowy rain. Yes, it wasnt quite snow, and it wasnt quite rain either. Cassidy loves the outside and wanted to eat whatever was falling from the sky.
At home, McKenzy and Evan were fighting over who was going to take Freckles for a walk. Freckles is a "borrowed" dog. Ok, not really borrowed, that's just what the kids seem to think. Freckles family is out of town and has asked us to dogsit. My kids love her. She is an American Bulldog. She's cute. She cuddles with McKenzy in her bed at night.

Kevin wants to know when my Dad is coming back down here for a visit because he says I dont make dinner unless he is here. I made Enchiladas tonight. I say that is cooking. Ok, so it might have been todays special at the caffe and I brought it home since it wasnt busy, but isnt that the smart thing to do? So now, Freckles is desperately trying to get some leftovers, but we dont do the table scrap thing.

McKenzy is practicing her clarinet to the tune of "Home on the Range". I can only hope that all of you get that song stuck in your heads!!
Evan is playing star wars and Cassidy is eating sugar out of the sugar bowl, so I think I will close with that.
